paranormal romance witch books

September 29th, 2008: True Blood

I think I mentioned on this site that Charlaine Harris is one of my favorite Urban Fantasy/ Paranormal Romance authors. I love love love the Sookie Stackhouse
series and just saw the first three episodes of the HBO rendition, True Blood. I really enjoyed it. It's always so much fun to see one person's perspective on a book and
see it through their eyes. Especially fun to compare their vision to your own.
I'm really excited about this new series and I'm definitely planning on tuning in
from here on out. So if you haven't seen it yet, see it! Definitely a great show.

September 28th, 2008: New book

So I finally started my third book and although I'd been toying with the idea of a ghost hunter type novel, I've since put that idea on hold and instead, am writing something totally out there. LOL It's still urban fantasy but just a little more unique than the original ghost hunter idea I was contemplating. More to come on that later.
As far as other news, I've updated many of the pages on this site with new cartoons! Always something to celebrate! So be sure to go through and check them out. I think
the cartoons on this site definitely make it more interesting so I wanted to try to incorporate as many as I could. Hope you like them!

September 27th, 2008: Congrats!

Congratulations go to my friend and critique partner, Lori Brighton,
who just sold her first 2-book deal to Kensington! Lori's book is a historical
romance with paranormal twists, an alpha male hero and a heroine with an
uncanny ability! I really enjoyed reading the book
and I'm thrilled that Kensington saw the beauty in it as well. We're
not sure yet when it's due to hit the bookstores but I'll keep
everyone posted as soon as I know. So, congratulations to Lori and
I can't wait to see the book on the shelves!

September 26th, 2008: Agents

So, my agent Rachel reviewed my second book about Dulcie O'Neil, the spitfire
fairy and her dealings as a Regulator, sort of like law enforcement for the
Netherworld (titled To Kill A Warlock). Anyway, she had some great constructive comments as usual and I just finished making them all! I definitely think her ideas helped to strengthen the book.
Working on Rachel's changes really made me realize (and the same goes for
my first book--Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble) that having an agent is
crucial in this business. That might sound trite but aside from the contract and
sales side of things, it's so great to be able to share ideas with someone who
believes in your work and in you and who strengthens your work by pointing
out weak areas that you didn't notice for yourself. So, thank you to my great
agent for all your insight!

September 25th, 2008: Back from a long break!

Well, I haven't written a blog entry in here for ages! I have a good excuse
though--I've been relocating from Cambridge to Edinburgh! So far, my
husband and I are really enjoying Edinburgh. It was voted as one of the
most beautiful cities in the world and I would definitely concur. The
architecture is extremely gothic (huge dark buildings with lots of gargoyles,
statues and otherwise macabre looking features) and just begs for my next
story to take place here!
So I will try to update my website more often now that I'm settled. I also
need to add some photos of Edinburgh which I hope to do soon!
